Year Round School

Subject: newsletter info
Here is what you could use for your newsletter regarding Year Round School

We are looking for your input regarding the possibility of offering Year Round School as an option for Marysville Public Schools families.  Students would still attend school the same number of days in a year, but would have a slightly different calendar than the traditional school year.   The purposes of an alternate calendar would be to reduce “summer slide” and offer a choice for parents/guardians regarding the school calendar they find best for their family.  We are asking parents/guardians to complete a short survey to gauge interest in this possibility.  You can find the survey at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1L2HWKx-dlnSFgWE6Rfz2lu1RTHSjZfWjvWaVuAOsF3M/viewform

If Marysville decides to have an alternate calendar it will completely optional for families to participate.  For more information please visit the district website at www.marysvilleschools.us  or contact Tracie Eschenburg, Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Personnel at 455-6037.

Monday Memo on Wednesday

Simile, Idiom, and Metaphor Test will be on Thursday. The study guide was sent home today.

No spelling test this week.

We have started using Google Drive for our lighthouse research project.  This paper will be completed in school as part of our writing, science, and social studies curriculum time.  PLEASE be sure your child has their planner daily, since many passwords are written in it.  It would be BEST if you child memorizes their Google email and password.

Please encourage your child to take two AR tests by the end of the month.

Looking Ahead

We need volunteers for the next two holiday parties.  Please sign-up if you are interested.  THANKS!

If you can't attend but would like to purchase the supplies, that is much appreciated too. I can always run the center for you.  Many parents did that for the Christmas party, and I was much appreciative.
