I'm looking for a copy of Mooseltoe?  If you have it at home, may I borrow it?
Also, a copy of the video Elf on the Shelf?

I have two great lesson ideas for our Opinion Writing Unit.

Thanks,

Multiplication Chart

http://www.mathsisfun.com/tables.html

This is a great tool for homework.  Many students understand the concept, but are writing incorrect answers due to math facts.  Allow them to use this tool for homework.

Sign your family up to read online

This free site has wonderful titles for all age groups.

Remember students should be reading 10 pages a night for homework.  This is a FREE way to expand their library.

Field Trip

Field Trip Reminders:

~Try to wear a Marysville or Blue shirt and tennis shoes.
~ A disposable lunch is easiest.  Ziploc bags, juice boxes, plastic water bottles, and plastic utensils may be thrown out after lunch; less for us to transport.
~ I’d prefer if students came with NO money or electronics.  Teachers and chaperones are not responsible for these items.
~ Arrive to school at 7:30; the bus will leave at 7:45.

~ We will return to school before the final bell.

headphones

We are utilizing the iPads daily in class.  Students need headphones for individual tasks.

I haven’t brought up this need in the past because students were kindly sharing.  I don’t feel this is the best choice for instruction and personal hygiene at this time.

If possible, please find an old pair at home or visit the dollar store.  It would be great for every students to take full advantage of our electronics J!

  2. Heat can transfer from one substance to another.
  3. Evidence of energy in change.
  4. Electrical charge moves in a complete circuit.
  5. Magnetism is a physical property of matter.
  6. Magnets can attract and repel other magnetic material.

It was a hot one today.  I'd like to thank the family who brought in an extra fan, ice cold water, and popsicles. It definitely cooled us down.   YUM!

Homework

Our first homework assignment was due today (Spelling Phone).  Students who do not turn in their homework MUST stay in for recess to complete it.  Also, I don't require parents to sign homework.  I ask that you sign the planner often.

Planners

Washington Elementary ordered planners for the students.  They should arrive soon.  In the meantime, we will use a piece of paper.  Please sign the planner daily.  I do understand we forget at times;  students will not be punished unless it is a weekly occurrence.  We all have enough on our plate.

Welcome to 4c!

For the first day of school, please bring 1-6 pictures of yourself that will not be returned home.

On the right side of the blog, there is a rectangle to type your email address.  After doing so, all my posts will be sent directly to your email.  You would not need to check back to the blog weekly unless you need to reference class materials.
